The work dialogues with other composers and it is especially notable how Pablo Sorozábal, a Basque by origin, manages to capture with absolute clarity the spirit of a modern Madrid, reflecting the essence of a renewed and current casticismo. This perspective confirms the open and inclusive mentality of the Spanish capital. Premiered on Friday, November 2, 1990, the production has not stopped being performed since then and, 36 years after its premiere, has established itself as the most watched production in the history of the Teatro de la Zarzuela. In a corner of Cotón forest, Teo, a twelve-year-old boy, is sent by his father to hunt a bear.
