Chamber Music Season. Paris was, between the late nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, one of the world's principal centers of artistic creation. Composers from diverse backgrounds found in the French capital a space for exchange where tradition, innovation, and openness to new cultural influences coexisted. The program of this concert reflects that cosmopolitan spirit. Camille Saint–Saëns' Caprice sur des airs danois et russes combines the elegance of the French school with popular melodies from northern and eastern Europe, testament to Paris's interest in foreign musical cultures. Darius Milhaud, a prominent figure of the Les Six group, expanded that horizon by incorporating rhythms, harmonies, and colors inspired by his travels and by Parisian avant-gardes. The work of Édouard Destenay Trio for Clarinet, Oboe and Piano and the refined Trio for flute, oboe and piano by Madeleine Dring complete this journey through a repertoire that, from different perspectives, evidences the influence of the French tradition beyond its borders. More than a geographical place, Paris was a meeting point where musical ideas dialogued with the world, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire performers and composers to this day. In a corner of Cotón forest, Teo, a twelve-year-old boy, is sent by his father to hunt a bear.
